I did hit a small bump in the road when our free-housing offer for the College Tour was cancelled upon our return this semester. So, I researched hotel and Airbnb prices. I found Airbnb housing within 2 miles of GMU at a reasonable price of $168 for 2 nights for 5 people. I submitted a request this Sunday to book it, but the request are only valid for 24 hours. I received an email today that my request expired, so I sent in another. If I do not receive confirmation by Wednesday this week, I will look elsewhere for a better option.
I also emailed Giovanna with a College Tour update with our changed visiting times and confirming that we will be taking the lecture-event she offered for us on Friday from 3pm-5pm.
A mistake I made this past week was mainly due to miscommunication and not thinking about the new Visions staff members. This mistake regards Sam and her work with the Valentine's Day Bake Sale flyers. I sent her a link to the Art Department Google Calendar and told her about the due date as well as where to find the information to include on the flyer (within the description on the Google calendar event). However, I neglected to think or check-in with Sam with whether or not she fully knew how to use Google Calendar. When I checked in with her today, she said the Art Department Calendar did not appear on hers. Michelle and I called her today to clear up this misunderstanding, in which I told her how to add it to her calendar by clicking the link in the gmail I sent her.
Michelle had a meeting with Sam earlier this week (I was unavailable to attend) to explain the event flyers. We have agreed that we need to have a personal group meeting with Sam to walk her through exactly how the Google Calendar works as well as bleeds needed for printing.
I am very impressed with Sam's flyer designs so far!
